These three photographs were made in France and Italy, but they sit together because each uses architecture as a frame rather than a subject in itself.
A museum façade, a crossing and a windowed interior organize movement through edges, shadow and light. Human presence remains small or partial; the edit is a compact study of how a place can be read through the act of passing through it.
